Preparing for Job Interviews - Interview Skills Training

Interview Coaching and Preparation, Reading, Berkshire
With competition for jobs at an all time high, employers and recruiters are inundated with job applications - often receiving hundreds of applications for each vacancy.

They can afford to be highly selective and while securing an interview is a great achievement, it's only the first hurdle.

You'll very likely be up against stiff competition so it's vital that you're well prepared.  This includes researching the role, the employer's business, their competitors and the market.  Even for lower level roles, you'll be expected to have done your homework.

Our job interview skills training will help you prepare and consider the questions that you might be asked.  In particular, we focus on competency based questions, which is where most applicants struggle.

We'll also highlight bad habits such as:
  • not answering questions directly and coherently
  • talking too much or too little
  • not making eye contact
  • poor body language
  • lack of preparation
  • lack of personal presence
  • irritating habits
  • poor diction
Time permitting, we can conduct a mock interview although we find that clients benefit most from repeatedly running through various scenarios based on experience and competencies, fine tuning their thoughts and possible responses.

Our sessions are designed to help you improve your confidence and interview performance, and we provide honest and constructive feedback from an interviewer's perspective.

It's possible that you'll only need one or two telephone or Skype sessions, which could prove particularly useful since many employers now conduct first interviews by telephone.  We can assess this during our initial telephone conversation.

Prices:

First Session: £275
I need to get to know you. The first session is usually equivalent to half a day.  This "half day equivalent" isn't all "contact" time and isn't necessarily applied in one hit.  It includes preparation time, eg reading job descriptions, reading your application (cover letter, CV, etc), reading the target employer's website, doing advance research and possibly preparing interview questions and discussion topics. Some of the time will also be allocated to written feedback or follow up.

Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm (excluding holidays which are charged at weekend rate)
During normal working hours the cost is £75 per hour.  This includes preparation time, eg reading the job description, reading your application (cover letter, CV, etc), reading the target employer's website and preparing interview questions.
There is a minimum charge of one hour.  Thereafter time is charged at £25 per 20 minutes.

Weekday Evenings
During evenings the cost is £90 per hour.
There is a minimum charge of one hour, thereafter £30 per 20 minutes.

Weekends

During weekends the cost is £120 per hour.
There is a minimum charge of one hour, thereafter £40 per 20 minutes.

Meetings

If we meet with you, there may be an additional charge for travel time and related costs.

Feedback
We provide verbal feedback immediately and this is usually sufficient.
If written feedback is required, the time taken to prepare this will be charged at £75 per hour, pro rata.  Written feedback will be sent via email.
